Valencian Community is located in the southeastern portion of Spain along the Mediterranean Sea. It is known for its fantastic climate and more than 300 miles of coastline. The famous rice dish paella originated in the region’s capital city of Valencia.

Located in the market, Central Bar is the perfect place to grab a drink and enjoy great tapas before heading home for dinner. The salted cod croquettes and calamari a la plancha we had were fantastic.

LA COMISARIA
A modern tapas restaurant with Asian influence, La Comisaria was a treat. It was interesting to see how the chef combined Asian cuisine with Spanish tapas.

BODEGAS HISPANO SUIZAS
A favorite for us to visit! Try one of the only Pinot Noirs produced in Spain (and it’s really amazing) plus some of the coolest small production Cavas. There is a great patio for dining in the vineyards, as well lovely guest rooms to stay the night. We are famous for lounging in the Egyptian cotton bathrobes while drinking the remaining Cava after dinner!

This winery is credited for “saving” the Bobal varietal, and makes some very earthy and robust wines from this grape. A gorgeous property to visit, and prepares one of the most authentic paellas for lunch after the winery tour.
